It was Christmas on the Island of Sodor
All the engines were working hard getting the final preparations for the Christmas party at Great Waterton.
The snow was cold and bitter, but that didn’t stop the engines from being useful

Rosie was with Mavis and Molly at Knapford Station waiting for their assignments from The Fat Controller.
“I hope to entice Toby under the mistletoe tonight” Mavis grinned
“What’s mistletoe?” asked Rosie
“It’s a sort of plant” Molly explained “If you kiss your true love under it at Christmas; it’s a sign of good luck”
Rosie’s mind was awash with thoughts of her and Thomas kissing (Ed: Which I won’t go into detail with lol)
The fat controller came to the platform to see the engines
“Molly, you are to collect the baubles for the tree from Maithwaite station. Mavis, you are to collect the lights for the town from Maron and Rosie; you have the most important job”
Rosie beamed
“You are to collect the Christmas tree from the transfer yards; Sir Handel will bring it from the mountains” said The Fat Controller
Rosie couldn’t believe it!
“Thank You Sir!” Rosie squealed happily and rushed off to get the flatbed for the tree

Rosie buffered up to her flatbed; but before she could set off, she saw a small, blue tank engine in the carriage yards – Thomas
Rosie grinned from each side of her boiler
Thomas had a flatbed with him; the item on the flatbed was covered by a tarpaulin
Thomas saw her and hid behind some express coaches
Gordon arrived, buffered up to the express coaches and hauled them out of the siding, revealing Thomas
“C**p” said Thomas and hid behind some red coaches
Rosie frowned
“Maybe he doesn’t like me after all” she sighed and puffed away to the transfer yards

When she arrived, there was no sign of Sir Handel
“Bother” said Rosie frowning even deeper
10 minutes later, Sir Handel arrived; he was red in the face with exhaustion
“Sorry I’m late love…This tree weighs a ton!” panted Sir Handel
Then he noticed Rosie looked sad
“Is something the matter Rosie?” he asked
“It’s Thomas…” Rosie sighed sadly
“What’s he done?” asked Sir Handel asked
“He keeps avoiding me, like I’m the offspring of Frankenstein”
Sir Handel looked all over Rosie
“I don’t see an ugly engine, I see a young, beautiful engine with a cute smile” replied Sir Handel
Rosie smiled but she didn’t know that Sir Handel had a secret crush on her…
She started off back to Tidmouth but Sir Handel tried to tell her something
“Rosie! Watch out for the…snow…drift”
But Rosie was far in the distance for her to hear the little blue engine…

Rosie chuffered through the snowy countryside, she saw children having friendly snowball fights and building snowmen.
“I wish Thomas and I could build snowmen” she sighed
Then she saw Thomas again coming down the other line
She whistled to him
Thomas panicked and went onto a disused siding to avoid her
“Damn” said Rosie
But she was so busy fuming about Thomas that she didn’t see the snowdrift in the distance
But before she knew, it was too late and she ploughed into it. Her wheels were stuck firm in the thick snow
“Oh dear! I’ve failed the fat controller…” she said sadly and began to cry…

The fat controller was in his office with a clipboard
“Molly’s delivery of baubles to Great Waterton – Check
Mavis’ delivery of Christmas lights to Great Waterton - Check
Rosie’s delivery of Christmas tree to Great Waterton – N/A”
He became worried
“I’ll send Harold the Helicopter to look for her” he decided

Rosie was still upset
Suddenly, she saw an odd looking plant in the tree branch hanging above her
‘Is that… Mistletoe?’ she thought
Then she heard a buzzing noise coming from the sky
It was Harold the Helicopter
“Harold to Sir Topham Hatt, Location of Rosie – Affirmative” he announced “On the branch line between Maron and Great Waterton”
He flew down in the field next to the railway line
“Don’t worry Rosie, I’m sending for help right away” said Harold
This gave Rosie an idea
“Can you send for Thomas?” she asked Harold
Harold contacted Sir Topham Hatt
“Rosie requests you send for Thomas” said Harold “Affirmative”
Harold looked towards her
“Thomas is on his way” said Harold and buzzed his blades “Cheerio!” and flew away

A few minutes later
Thomas arrived with Terence the Tractor and his snow plough
“Don’t worry Rosie, I’ll have you out” said Terence and set to work pushing the snow to the side of the tracks
Soon, Rosie was free but was feeling very cold
“Brrr!” shivered Rosie “My wheels are too stiff to move”
Then she saw the mistletoe; this gave her strength
“Thomas, come a little closer” she said
Thomas was confused
“Err…Ok” he said and came right up to her face
“Perfect” Rosie thought
“Thank you for coming to rescue me” she said
“Oh err don’t thank me! Thank Terence!” stuttered Thomas
“I’ve got your Christmas present!” said Rosie seductively (Ed: Imagine Rosie with a sexy voice!”¬)
She rammed right into Thomas and gave him the kiss of his life!
Terence went red with embarrassment and almost blew a fuse (Ed: machine equivalent of fainting)
The kiss lasted 10 seconds
“Liked your present?” asked Rosie
Thomas couldn’t utter a word; he was too embarrassed and shocked
Rosie giggled “I assume you liked it”
Suddenly, Thomas’ eyes span like crazy
“Let’s get you to Great Waterton and deliver that tree!” said Thomas all of a sudden; he felt like he was given all the courage and confidence in the world
He quickly buffered up to Rosie and rushed off
“Hey! What about me!” called Terence

It was 18:00pm when they arrived at Great Waterton
The Fat Controller was there
“The accident wasn’t your fault” said The Fat Controller
“Excuse me Sir, I’ve gotta borrow Rosie for a moment” said Thomas in a speedy voice
He buffered up to Rosie and pulled her to Tidmouth in Super Sonic Speed style

It was dark when they reached Tidmouth yards
“Wait here!” said Thomas and went into the carriage shed
A few minutes later…
“Rosie! You can come in now!” said Thomas
Rosie silently steamed into the shed, it was pitch black
Suddenly, the lights came on and there was Thomas with a massive heart statue with ‘Thomas and Rosie forever’ engraved in it.
“Thomas” said Rosie “It’s beautiful”
“That’s not all” he turned on a stereo and ‘Let It Snow started to play.
Thomas sang the song to Rosie
Thomas’ voice echoed about the yard, attracting the attention of all the engines present
Percy, Edward, Gordon, James, Henry, Toby, Emily etc.
All the engines cheered when Thomas finished the song
Rosie thought it was so beautiful that she would cry!
“Oh thank you!” cried Rosie and kissed Thomas in the same fashion as earlier
The other engines grinned at the couple
When Rosie finished kissing Thomas; Thomas felt so dizzy that he fainted
Rosie grinned
